Course times      Start at .9.30 am -4.30 Monday to friday.

Can i bring My own dog  ?

Tendring dog grooming Academy do provide dogs for you through out your course , However

Yes of course you can, also inviting friends and family's dogs for discounted haircuts and baths for you to practise on.

Is Parking Avalible ?

Yes we have a large off road parking area suitable for upto 5 Vehicles

What are Refreshment and Break times?

We have a trainee relaxation area with tables, chairs, a fridge, kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, cups & cutlery. There is a Tesco Express within in a close walk, However  we recommend trainees bring their own food requirements with them each day. We do not work to specific break times. Trainees may take a break whenever they wish, subject to grooming time restrictions such as the commitment to finish a groom or the supervision of a dog.

What Salon Equipment will i use?   Each Student is given a workstation to maintain, we use all the latest electrical equipment including Electric tables, Baths and  we have our own Blade smith on campus so we always have shape equipment ready.

Trainees attending our Complete Career Training Package or 20 Day Dog Grooming Foundation Course will need to buy their own set of specialised dog grooming scissors. Scissors wear and ‘mould’ to the way an individual uses them and are therefore a very personal tool.

If you already own professional scissors you may use them on your course subject to them being of an adequate quality to train with or you may buy our professional trainee scissor starter kit for £185. This kit has been supplied by Kings Lynn dog grooming specialist, Mandy Carr of The Scissor Boutique and is a high quality selection of 4 essential starter scissors, (straights, curves, thinners and small) for you to learn with and start your career with, keep and treasure. Should you wish to add to your scissor collection at any point, Mandy offers 1:1 consultations to help and advise you according to your needs, style and experience.

All other training equipment is provided for use on your course including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment.)

What should i wear ?   Comfortable clothing and shoes. (Jeans are fairly ‘dog hair resistant’) Tendring dog grooming Academy will provide protective  tops for use during the duration of the course. Please keep jewellery to wedding bands only, small stud earrings & discreetly covered neck chains. 

​

What else might i need ?

A camera or camera phone is invaluable to record your practical progress for your own records. The Dog House will take any photographs required for City & Guilds assessments and provide all training manuals and handbooks.

​

What products do we use?     WE use the best and effective products on the market. 100% natural products  are mainly used and we never use any products containing bleach on your dog.
