My Name is Stephanie Pina LCGI ;
I have been a dedicated holistic dog groomer for 20 years. I previously owned Canine Barbers Dog Grooming Salon before progressing to open Tendring Dog Grooming Training Academy. I have 14 years teaching experience which I gained through teaching dog grooming courses at Otley College, these courses were very successful with a high pass rate.
Previous to entering the dog grooming industry I worked with rescue dogs, during this time I had the opportunity to learn and understand the working of a dog’s mind and understand their body language. This experience allows me to adapt or change the environment to keep your dog calm and happy.

GROOMING
Courses
After teaching Dog Grooming for a number of years, I have firm and practiced methods of the best way of learning the trade. It is more or less based on 90% practical experience,with a small amount of theory work covered.
At all times there will be a maximum of four students, so very much a highly focused method of one to one tuition is given. I am devoted to teaching to the highest of standards that I practice in my own work as a Canine Beautician contributing to the rising success of my own business Canine Barbers Dog Grooming.
We aim to cater for the complete novice groomer up to a more experienced groomer wanting to inprove their skills.
​We can also offer bespoke training courses, giving you the opportunity to design your own grooming programme.

INTRODUCTION COURSE: £150
A special 1 day 'tester' This course is designed to give you an insight into dog grooming as a career choice.​
BEGINNERS COURSE: £500
For total beginners, ideal for people wanting a taster into a career as a canine beautician, or to learn the basic skills to groom their own breed of Dog, which could save pounds in grooming fees over the year.This courseis run one day a week over a period of four weeks. Slow practise course
Level 2
This course will cover a small range of breeds with practical hands on experience, one to one guided tuition, including bathing, preparation work and basic clipping. Duration is one day a week over 5 weeks.​
ADVANCE COURSE: £1500
This Level is designed for the more experienced groomer who is already in employment as a groomer or has completed other grooming courses. Its a course that I describe as a real learn to earn of canine grooming. This will focus on the whole grooming process, again with the same high level of one to one intensive tuition. This will cover a wide range of breeds from start to finish, in a set amount of time that is labourand cost effective. Help and advice is available on all aspects of starting a grooming business.Duration is one day a week over 20 weeks.
Deluxe Course - Cost £4000
With Steph's high intensity one to one tuition,this is a intence 8 month (5 days a week) course that is designed to give the student training, confidence and the business acumen to run a successful grooming salon.
This course is mainly practical based work that will cover a range of breeds from start to finish, in a set amount of time that is labour and cost effective.
The course is split into two sections. Help and advice is available on all aspects of starting a grooming business
Part one of the course includes:- Proper use of clippers, scissors, dryers and all grooming equipment. Bathing procedures, grooming out, de-matting, nail cutting, ear cleaning and care, hair trimming around the feet and pads. Basic clipping of a large variety of breeds. Introduction of a greater variety of breeds. Learning how to handle aggressive behaviour in dogs. Learning how to identify the appropriate trimming method for a particular type of coat and breed Applying the finishing touches whilst maintaining the highest of standards.
Part Two of the course includes:- Guidance with setting up your business; from initial advertising, achieving a professional image, advice on purchasing cost effective equipment and working within a budget.
Planning the design of your salon. A *free consultation service in your first year of business once you are up and running, you can telephone or email me for advice.

​Duration 8 months Monday-Tuesday,Friday 9.30am - 3.00pm maximum 4 students to a class.
After completing a dog grooming course at Canine Barbers each student will have created a small potfolio of course work /dogs completed and will also receive a
Canine Barbers Grooming School Certificate.
​Dates Available : Only one or two days a week available for 2016 JAN/FEB FEB/MAR MAR/APR APR/MAY MAY/JUN JUN/JUL JUL/AUG AUG/SEP SEP/OCT OCT/NOV.
